Attorney Zmijewski Presents to the Financial Planning Association of Michigan

Attorney Richard R. Zmijewski presented to the Financial Planning Association of Michigan on February 13, 2020 about estate planning considerations for those entering retirement, end of life planning, and planning to support elder rights and advocacy.  The event was held at Arbor Hospice in Ann Arbor, Michigan and was presented to about 25 members of the Financial Planning Association.

Richard discussed the benefits of early planning with a trust, last will, durable power of attorney, patient advocate designation, funeral representative designation, and other documents in order to prepare for unexpected circumstances.  He explained how good counseling and support through-out the process from an estate planning attorney, in cooperation with a client’s other professional advisors, is essential in creating the best plan for the client.  Finally, Richard presented on how to recognize warning signs of elder abuse, how to respond to suspected abuse, and how to receive assistance from the right professionals.
